Benefits Consulting

Our Process

We firmly believe that implementing an effective benefits strategy is an ongoing process, not an annual event. That is why we are your partner for the long-haul, working day-to-day to build in-depth relationships with your team to craft custom benefit solutions to meet your short and long-term objectives.

We provide you with comprehensive, customized service and consultation including:

  1. Plan Analysis: A thorough review of your existing benefits program.
  2. Long-term Planning: Needs assessment, goal setting, and the creation of a multi-year employee benefits strategy to meet your goals and objectives.
  3. Short-term Planning: Creation of a 12-month plan to support the long-term goals and objectives.
  4. Short-term Plan Execution: Employee engagement, education, and enrollment support.
  5. Renewal Analysis: A thorough strategic and tactical comparative review of the short-term plan relative to the long-term goals and objectives including benchmarking, performance analysis, trend review, and benefit design review.

Each phase of our process has specific objectives and deliverables. Below is an in-depth look at what we will implement in conjunction with your staff and employees:

Phase 1: Plan Analysis

Our process begins with discovery, reviewing where your Company has been, where it is today and where you are going in the future. We will analyze claims data, when available, from your existing carriers along with industry performance data from other companies in your industry. While we assemble this data, we will also be asking about your corporate goals, expectations and budget requirements. We’ll conduct employee surveys and analyze your demographics to determine areas of your program that need to be modified. From understanding your financial objectives to employee perceptions, we will be your benefit advisor through every step of the process.

Phase 2: Long-term Planning

After thoroughly analyzing your past benefit objectives, along with your current and future objectives, we will create a 3 to 5 year strategic benefit plan. We will share our industry trend projections with you and discuss how to best prepare today for changes that will affect your plans in the future.

Phase 3: Short-term Planning

Using your strategy as a road map, we will integrate plan components drawn from experience with our network of carriers and service providers into a comprehensive plan designed to meet your employee needs and operational budget. The plan design will consist of the most innovative services available today with a constant eye on where we see these services and your Company evolving in the future.

Phase 4: Short-term Plan Execution

The plan we design for you includes an integrated suite of services and a comprehensive timeline that ensures that the rollout is smooth for your HR team and employees. We will work with your benefits team to ensure your employees are informed about any changes or choices they will face. We’ll assist with initial enrollments and make sure that ongoing claims are being handled efficiently. We will be with you every step of the way to answer any questions that arise during the implementation and throughout the year.

Phase 5: Renewal Analysis

Prior to your Company’s renewal and before any plan modifications, we will begin assembling claims data from your carriers, when available, and comparing your plan performance to certain industry benchmarks. This is where the process begins again.

Your Full Time Partner

For us, it is all about you. We strive to be a strategic partner that shares in your challenges and is an integral part of your success.

As you contemplate searching for the right insurance professional to assist you with your employee benefits program ask yourself these questions:

Q. Does my insurance agent meet with me regularly throughout the year or just at renewal?

Q. Do I have an effective benefit communication strategy in place to help my employees understand and appreciate the benefits I offer?

Q. Does my insurance agent regularly review my existing benefit plans to determine where benefits may overlap, look for gaps and determine where new or revised benefits may be in order?

Q. Are all of the dependents on my benefits program eligible to participate? Have I recently conducted a dependent audit to determine if there are ineligible dependents on my plans filing claims and increasing my liability?
